History of Jass

JASS was created during a motor journey from Tunis to Monastir in 2002.

Sami Attia, a Tunisian educated in France, offered a lift to Jon Russell, an Englishman educated by life, following a meeting in Tunis. It became apparent that there was a synergy and a common cause. Therefore, with this, there was an opportunity to create what they hoped would be something special in the Tunisian garment industry.

Sami Attia has been involved in the local garment industry of Tunisia since leaving university. He has worked as a senior manager with several major European brands in the facilitating of production and product development and has proven his capabilities in the industry.

Jon Russell has been involved in the garment industry for over 30years, He has managed manufacturing and wholesale companies, travelled the world sourcing fabrics and garments, worked with the cheapest and the most expensive, the biggest and the smallest of the UK retail network.

Together they decided to create something which could help those European companies, without the experience of working in Tunisia, to find the right manufacturers for their products and also to ensure that the garments they received were to specification and on time. This joint experience would also be used to help the Tunisian manufactures to understand the best way to work with the export market and to secure for them, good customers and a profitable business relationship.

In 2006, Jass Platform was created as the manufacturing arm of the Jass.
